Triple Treat As Air Assault Wins Third Consecutive John Letts Cup
While most of the action was at Flemington on Tuesday for the Melbourne Cup, the Andrew Gluyas trained Justify (USA) gelding Air Assault was creating his own piece of history at Morphettville, winning the Listed SAJC John Letts Cup (1800m) for the third consecutive year.
Bella Verona Wins $350,000 Inglis Bracelet
The winning run of Arrowfield Stud graduates continued at Flemington on Oaks Day and while the $350,000 VRC Inglis Bracelet (1600m) does not carry Black Type, the winner of this year’s race Bella Verona certainly has the talent to suggest a stakes win in the future may be a formality.
Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick
This time last year Hellbent produced a live chance for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in Zip Lock, who is set to return at Eagle Farm this Saturday for his first appearance at three, and at Randwick on Friday the Yarraman stallion produced a brilliant 2YO heat winner that will also have MM aspirations.
Breeding To Win - 2026 G1 VRC Champions Stakes
It's a Cox Plate rematch in the G1 Champions Stakes and Flemington was a Soft 5 on Oaks Day with the odd shower persisting until Saturday, but that's when the forecast turns a little ugly as Cosmic Crusader seeks to cement his place as the 'Best from the West' since Northerly.
