Interesting 2YO trial at Rosehill on Friday morning with a Home Affairs colt from the Black Caviar family doing everything right to win.
Trained by Team Hawkes and ridden by Tyler Shiller, Royal Accord jumped quickly from gate two to cross the horse on his inside and find the fence. He travelled on the bit throughout and was happy to let a few slide in front of him and then at the furlong when given a little shaken up showed a good response.
Royal Accord won by the best part of a length over Ole Kirk colt Macho, who showed good improvement from his first trial. Devoid of early pace the first time he stepped out and then green to the line, Macho had blinkers on this time and duly applied himself a lot better to the task.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase for International Thoroughbred Solutions from Newgate Farm, Royal Accord runs for an ownership group that includes some of the Black Caviar owners and notably Neil Werrett in whose colours he runs.

Bred by Love Racing, Royal Accord is the first foal of Yumi, a two time winning Lonhro mare from Belle Couture, a winning Redoute’s Choice half-sister to champions Black Caviar, All Too Hard and to the dams of Group I winners Ole Kirk and Nepotism.
Royal Accord has a bit in common with Golden Slipper winner Guest House, who was also bred by Love Racing in partnership, foaled and raised at Newgate and sold for similar money at Magic Millions with Mick Price Racing & Breeding Pty Ltd/Roll The Dice Racing/Rogers Bloodstock purchasing him for $270,000.
