The Lindsay Park boys struck again at Flemington on Cup Day when undefeated Ole Kirk colt Ranarsson made it three wins in a row when taking out the $200,000 Listed VRC Amanda Elliott Stakes (1400m).

Ridden by Ben Melham, he was a short priced favourite following facile wins at Cranbourne at his first two starts in September and October and took the quantum leap here.
Ranarsson hit the line hard and had to dig deep to run down Home Affairs colt Barracks to win by half a length.

“He got a bit worked up today, big day, third ever start. He did get a little bit warmer than normal. I was a little bit worried but he got the job done,” said co-trainer Ben Hayes.
"He added another string to his bow and took a sit today. He relaxed. He peeled out and probably didn't have the best run in transit. He was still able to win which is the sign of a very good horse.
"He's an exciting horse and a great group of owners. It is just great to get a result for them."

A $700,000 Magic Millions purchase for PR Thoroughbreds from North Bloodstock, Ranarsson has won three from three earning over $177,000 in prizemoney and was the highest priced yearling for his sire Ole Kirk sold in 2025.
Bred by Neil Werrett, who retains a share in his ownership, Ranarsson is the best of two winners from three foals to race from Pop Girl, a metro winning Snitzel daughter of G3 placed Music Review, who comes from a US female family.

Ranarsson has a 2YO full brother that was sold by North Bloodstock at Magic Millions this year for $500,000 to Trilogy Racing/Bjorn Baker Racing/Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd.
Pop Girl was covered again last season on a late service date by Ole Kirk.
Ranarsson is the ninth Group I winner for Vinery Stud’s Ole Kirk, who stands at a fee of $110,000.
