New Stakes-winner for Brutal- Savagery Vibe Salutes

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 30

The $160,000 Listed BRC Helen Coughlan Stakes (1200m) produced a blow out result when rank outsider Savagery Vibe saluted to give her sire Brutal his fifth stakes-winner.

Now trained by Tony Gollan after starting her career with Nick Ryan, Savagery Vibe has always shown good potential and has blossomed since transferring to Queensland.

Savagery Vibe burst through the middle of the pack for Daniel Moor to surge clear and win by half a length.

"It's been just an evolving preparation. I want to thank Cameron Cook and all of the owners who shifted the mare up here to us,” said Tony Gollan.

“She's been a real work in progress and our team's done a great job with her. She's held weight all preparation, and she just kept putting her hand up to run again, and again, and again, and I wasn't sure if I had another run in her.

“I had her up for so long, but I just know how much she loves Eagle Farm 1200.”

Bred by Orbis Bloodstock and raised at Newgate, Savagery Vibe was sold unraced by Orbis through the 2024 Inglis Digital February (early) Sale where she was bought by astute bloodstock agent Cameron Cooke for $22,500.

Savagery Vibe had a preparation with Chris Waller as was detailed in her sale page and was being sold due to her owner Orbis Bloodstock looking to reduce their numbers

Cameron Cooke and all her owners will no doubt have had a great day today and can look forward to more wins in store for Savagery Vibe, who has the overall record of five wins and seven placings from 17 starts with prizemoney in excess of $317,000.

Savagery Vibe is the third winner from four foals to race from imported Group III winner Kiss Moon (USA), a half-sister by Malibu Moon to stakes-winners Kiss Mine and Mischievous Kiss.

Kiss Moon died earlier this year and her last foal is a filly by Prized Icon.

Brutal

Savagery Vibe is the fifth stakes-winner for Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap winner Brutal, who stands at a fee of $16,500.
